Rock Creek Station State Historical Park and State Recreation Area

57426 710 Rd, 6 mi. E., 1 mi. S., 1/4 mi. E. - Road ranch served pioneers and freighters on the Oregon Trail, and the Overland Stage and Pony Express Routes. Oregon Trail ruts are visible. Wild Bill Hickok began his infamous gunfighting career here. Grounds open summer, 8am-8pm; rest of the year, 8am to sunset. Visitor Center and interpretive facilities open May-Sep, daily, 10am-5pm. Off-season and after hours tours by appt. Modern campground at State Recreation Area. Park permit required. Camping fee. 402-729-5777
