Boyer Chute National Wildlife Refuge
2260 Cty Rd 34
3 1/2 mi. E. on County Rd 34 - Restored Missouri River side channel surrounded by more than 4,000 acres of grassland, woodland and wetlands. Short nature trail and more than 6 miles of open hiking on the refuge's Island Unit. Fishing, wildlife observation and wildlife photography. Please contact refuge headquarters for managed hunting season information. The Lewis and Clark Expedition camped nearby at the Council Bluff from July 30-August 3, 1814 to hold the expedition's first council with American Indians. Open daily, daylight hours.
