Short nature trail and more than 6 miles of open hiking on the refuge's Island Unit. Fishing, wildlife observation and wildlife photography. The Lewis and Clark Expedition camped nearby at the Council Bluff from July 30-August 3, 1814 to hold the expedition's first council with American Indians. Open daily, daylight hours.
